This policy explains what personal data I am Alive! ("we", "us") collects when you use the I am Alive! app and the website at iama.live, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
1. What we collect
Account
- Your name and email address, from the Google or Apple account you sign up with, and the ID Google or Apple gives us for that account. If you choose Hide My Email, we get Apple's relay address instead of yours.
- Accounts created with a password before sign-up moved to Google and Apple keep it, stored only as a secure hash.
Fitness profile
- The answers to the fitness survey: age, gender, body type, height, weight, fitness goals and experience level, plus your training mode (calisthenics or gym). We work out your BMI from your height and weight.
- Plan settings, such as focus muscles and the workouts you build.
What you log
- Workouts you complete: which workout, when, how long, and any notes, effort or calories you add.
- Body measurements, such as weight and waist size.
- Nutrition, if you use it: food diary entries, foods you add, calorie and macro goals, diet plan and fasting schedule.
Some of this is health information. We use it only to provide the service to you, and we collect it because you choose to enter it.
Purchases
- When you buy Premium, the App Store or Google Play sends us a record of the purchase: the product, transaction identifiers, dates and whether it's active, renewed, refunded or expired. We never receive your card or bank details.
Technical data
- Your device's time zone, so "today" matches your clock, and the device name you sign in from, so you can tell sign-ins apart.
- When you were last active, and standard server logs, such as IP address, request time and errors, which we keep for security and troubleshooting.
On your device
- The app keeps your sign-in token in your phone's secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android), plus settings such as appearance.
- If you turn on Face ID or fingerprint login, your email and password are also kept in that secure storage on your phone, so the app can log you in after the check. Turning it off removes them.
- Your phone runs the Face ID or fingerprint check itself. We never receive or store biometric data; the app only learns whether the check passed.
Website
- The website uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and a security token that protects forms. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Its fonts load from Bunny Fonts (fonts.bunny.net), which receives your IP address to deliver them and says it doesn't log or track visitors.
2. How we use it
- To run your account and the service: your weekly plan, recommended workouts, suggested calorie and macro goals, limits and progress.
- To unlock and check Premium, and to handle renewals, cancellations and refunds reported by the stores.
- To answer you when you contact support.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To improve the service using aggregated statistics, such as how many workouts are logged, that don't identify you.
We process your data to provide the service you signed up for, with your consent for the health and fitness information you enter, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working. You can withdraw consent by deleting that information or your account.
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers that host and run the service for us, such as our hosting and email providers, under agreements that let them use it only on our instructions.
- Apple and Google, which sign you in and process your purchases under their own privacy policies.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
- A buyer or successor, if the service is sold or merged, who must protect your data as this policy describes.
4. How long we keep it
- Workout history covers the current week: when a new week starts on Sunday, last week's workout logs are deleted.
- Your data stays while your account is open. Anything you delete in the app, such as a workout log, history, food entry or measurement, is removed right away.
- When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and everything you logged within 30 days. We keep purchase records only as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Server logs are kept for a limited time for security, then deleted.
5. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to our systems is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you notice anything unusual.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, including under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 in the Philippines, you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used, and access a copy of it;
- correct data that is wrong. You can edit your profile and retake the survey in the app;
- delete data. Delete logs and history in the app, or delete your whole account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the website (Settings);
- object to or limit how we use it, or withdraw consent;
- get your data in a portable format;
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the National Privacy Commission in the Philippines.
You can delete your account yourself, straight away, in the app under Profile → Delete account or on the website under Settings. To use any of the other rights, or if you can't log in, email support@iama.live from your account's email address. We reply within 30 days.
7. Children
The service is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us their data, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Where your data is processed
We and our service providers may process your data outside your country. When we do, we make sure it's protected as this policy describes and as the law requires.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as the service changes and change the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
10. Contact
I am Alive! is responsible for your data under this policy. For questions or requests, email support@iama.live. This policy is governed by the laws of the Philippines.
